What are reasonable housing accommodations?
A reasonable accommodation is an exception to the usual rules or policies that a resident with a disability may need to have an equal opportunity to use and enjoy College housing. The provision of any approved housing accommodation is contingent on availability.
Disabilities may include, but are not limited to, the use of a wheelchair or other mobility device, other physical disability, low vision or blindness, students who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing, animal or other severe allergies, mental or emotional disabilities, and other medical conditions that could impact the student’s use of residential facilities.
What is required to apply?
Step One: All students requesting housing accommodations must complete this form to self-identify a disability and share their requested housing accommodation.
Step Two: All students requesting housing accommodations must provide this verification form from a reliable third party (e.g., a physician, therapist, or other medical professional). This verification form establishes that you have a disability and that the accommodation is necessary to provide you an equal opportunity to use and enjoy College housing.
Early submission of requests and documentation is strongly encouraged. Requests will not be considered until the verification form is received directly from your treating professional.
Currently have an approved housing accommodation?
Please note: Housing accommodations do not automatically renew. Returning student requests must be submitted via this form by the deadline each spring for use in the following academic year. It is the responsibility of the student to initiate the request for housing accommodations and to actively engage in the review process.
Submission of a new verification form from a medical professional is not required each year, unless your disability and/or requested housing accommodations have changed.
