Thank you for your interest in products from Sweet Briar College Farm, LLC! Our products represent both our College’s rich landscape and our academic programs, and all showcase the experiences of the Sweet Briar College students who study and work in our 26,000 square foot greenhouse, 20-hive apiary, and nearly 18-acre vineyard and wine shop.

Wine

If you are planning a special trip beyond the dates listed above, please email sweetbriarfarm@sbc.edu or call the farm winery at 434-381-0409 to confirm. We will post additional wine shop hours and special events on this webpage. We host sales events during campus occasions such as open houses, reunions, family weekends, and move-in weekends. Our wine shop is located up the ramp at the Wailes Center, just beyond the Elston Inn after you enter campus.

Our wines are made primarily from grapes grown in our campus vineyard; our wines are bottled in Charlottesville, Va. You may view our wine selection on our sales website. Note that we are not currently shipping wine (though we plan to start soon), so any orders made on the site are for pickup only.  If you would like to order and pick up six or more bottles of wine, and you are not available when our wine shop is open, we can likely arrange a special time for you to pick up your wine. Greenhouse Produce

In addition to supplying Prothro Dining and other campus food service, we offer produce for sale to the campus community and public most weeks when school is in session and during the summer. For those who want guaranteed produce each week, we recommend subscribing to our Community Supported Agriculture subscription program. Our regular market and CSA pickup hours are Mondays, 4:30-5:30 p.m. and Fridays, 12-12:45 p.m. To receive information about what will be available each week, please email lpowell@sbc.edu to be added to our “Greenhouse Fans” list (we also share information about wine sales on this list).

We also have a wholesale enterprise, providing fresh, student-grown produce to Central Virginia restaurants and institutions like retirement facilities and private schools.  If you are interested in purchasing wholesale, please check out the sbc.edu/greenhouse page or email sbcproduce@sbc.edu.

Honey

Our Sweet Briar College Farm honey is available for purchase in-person and online through the Sweet Briar College Book Shop. We also offer honey sales at our wine shop.
