Earth Week

Each spring, Sustainability Club and the Center for Human & Environmental Sustainability collaborate with groups across campus to celebrate “Earth Week” through numerous events and activities.

If you do not find the event “stamp” station, please take a selfie with one of the event organizers/leaders, and you can show it later to get stamp credit.

 

Monday, 21 April: 

Sunset Hike with the Outdoor Program: 7-10:30pm  (We are working with the Outdoor Program to make sure those who attended receive prize card credit!)

Wednesday, 23 April:

Lyrid Meteor Shower Bonfire with Falls on Nose and Sustainability Club: 7-8:30pm, Lower Dell

Thursday, 24 April:

Earth Week Lunch, 11am-2pm, Upper Quad.  Greenhouse produce will be available for sale 11am-1pm in upper quad, and there will music from the faculty bluegrass band!

Vines, Vintage, and Vibes Boathouse with Falls on Nose and Sustainability Club: 9pm, Boathouse and Lake

Friday, 25 April:

Vineyard Walk and Optional Spotted Lanternfly Nymph Killing Spree with Dr. Powell: 9am: meet at the corner of the upper vineyard just beyond the softball field (on the way to Monument Hill)

Thrift & Thrive: Sweet Briar’s Episcopal Store Adventure  (link to register on LibCal): 3-4:30pm, off-campus

Rumba with Sweet Dancers: 5:30pm - 7:00pm, Student Commons Courtyard (Lower Quad)

Boots and Belles Boathouse: 9:30pm - 12:00am, Boathouse & Lake (Earn a stamp if you have a reusable cup/bottle for water within the first hour)

Earth Day Lunch: 11am-2pm, Upper Quad.  Featuring Back Sydney Band from HSC, produce from the Big Greenhouse, and support from AR&D, as well as Earth Day Produce Market with Ag Operations students (cash or check accepted) from 11am-1pm.

Sweet Dancer’s Dancing Under the Stars: 6-7:30pm, Lower Quad

“Under Land, Over Sky” Talk with Artist Susie Ganch: 7:30pm-9pm, Pannell.  Enjoy Cloud Cakes and Greenhouse Lettuce Wraps!
