The Sweet Briar collection contains more than 6,000 objects that support the academic and cultural life of the college. The art collection comprises 1,758 works which span from medieval manuscripts through to 20th century femmage. The collection contains an extensive selection of works on paper including the works of Albrecht Durer, Rembrandt van Rijn, Pablo Picasso, and Francisco Goya. With support from the alumnae group, The Friends of Art, the college has added works from contemporary women artists including Carrie Mae Weems, Kara Walker, Lalla Essaydi, and Toyin Ojih Odutola.
